States need to keep PFAS ’forever chemicals’ out of the water. It won’t be cheap

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued new standards last month for PFAS levels in drinking water, giving water systems three years to conduct testing, and another two years to install treatment systems if contaminants are detected.
