An AI-automated live sports production platform, Pixelscope led by CEO Gee-hwan Kwon, is set to revolutionize the 2023 US Open Table Tennis Championship by broadcasting live matches through its cutting-edge AI technology.
The 2023 US Open, a leading international table tennis tournament in the United States, will take place at the Ontario Convention Center in California from December 16th to 21st. For the first time in the US, the United States Table Tennis Association (USATT) will utilize Pixelscope’s AI automated live broadcasting solution, Pixelcast, in order to facilitate AI-automated live sports broadcasting.
Pixelcast represents a significant innovation in sports broadcasting. It leverages artificial intelligence and image processing technology to automate live sports broadcasting, traditionally requires extensive manpower, while maintaining the quality of conventional broadcasts.
The solution stands out for its real-time 3D tracking and analysis of player and ball positions and movements using multiple high-speed tracking cameras. This capability allows for AI-driven control of multiple broadcast cameras through Pixelcast. It automates the entire production process, encompassing tasks such as switching between various camera angles, generating replays, and creating 3d graphics. Moreover, it offers the realistic and dynamic viewing experience.
Pixelscope stands as the sole provider of a high-end AI-automated live sports broadcasting system that uses AI to recognize sports scenarios and generate broadcast-quality outcomes without the need of professional manpower.
CEO Gee-hwan Kwon of Pixelscope expressed enthusiasm about introducing their unique technology at the 2023 US Open Table Tennis Championships. “In the competitive US sports market, which is rapidly integrating various innovative technologies, we are thrilled to debut Pixelscope's technology in collaboration with the United States Table Tennis Association," said Kwon. "We are excited to delivering dynamic and immersive live sports broadcasts not only to table tennis fans but also to fans worldwide, using Pixelcast.
Meanwhile, Pixelscope has been expanding its presence across diverse sports industries by using AI-automated live sports production system, moving beyond the coverage of the 2022 Dunamu Pro Table Tennis League. In November, Pixelscope gained recognition within the global sports industry as it was nominated as a contender for the “Best use of AI” award at the SportsPro OTT Awards hosted by SportsPro.
