New integration connects Agentic AI with Keyfactor platform to streamline the way PKI and digital certificates are managed
Keyfactor, the industry leader in digital trust for modern enterprises, today announced the preview release of the Keyfactor Command MCP Server, a new integration designed to connect Agentic AI tools like Claude, Copilot, and ChatGPT with the Keyfactor Command platform. This first-of-its-kind capability empowers organizations to simplify complex PKI and certificate lifecycle management (CLM) tasks and accelerate automation using natural language.
The integration is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an emerging AI standard that enables seamless communication between AI agents and enterprise systems. With the Keyfactor MCP Server, users can query their PKI environment, surface critical certificate risks, and even remediate issues with a simple prompt or question.
“As PKI environments become more complex and certificate-related outages more common, security teams need a faster, more intuitive way to understand and act on risk,” said Ted Shorter, CTO and co-founder, Keyfactor. “This prototype is a glimpse into the future of AI-enabled digital trust, where security teams can use natural language to unlock powerful insights, accelerate remediation, and automate certificate operations at scale.”
Key Features of the Command MCP Server
- Conversational Automation: Users can create prompts like “What certificates are about to expire?” or “Revoke and replace this certificate,” and receive real-time, actionable responses.
- AI-Powered Remediation: AI agents translate plain-language prompts into secure API calls to execute actions in Command, such as revoking a risky certificate or renewing near-expired certificates.
- Broader Usability: Promises to expand access to PKI and certificate management for teams across the organization, not just PKI specialists. The MCP Server can streamline configuration and automation for load balancers, web servers, cloud workloads, and more.
A Vision for Actionable AI in Digital Trust
The integration is in early development and not intended for production use. However, it represents a significant leap forward in Keyfactor’s vision for secure, scalable, and accessible digital trust.
With Command MCP Server, organizations will be able to:
- Gain instant AI-driven insights into their PKI and certificate landscape
- Remediate vulnerabilities faster and with greater confidence
- Enable non-experts to take an active role in secure certificate management
Availability
The Command MCP Server is currently available in preview on GitHub for demonstration and evaluation purposes. A recorded demo of its integration with Claude Desktop, showcasing certificate discovery and risk remediation via natural language, is now available.
A Continued Commitment to Innovation in Digital Trust
This announcement builds on Keyfactor’s recent acquisitions of InfoSec Global and CipherInsights, which extended its leadership in cryptographic discovery, risk monitoring, and quantum-safe readiness. Together, these capabilities form a comprehensive foundation for crypto-agility, giving organizations the visibility, control, and automation needed to manage cryptographic risk and adapt to evolving standards like post-quantum cryptography (PQC).
As organizations face a massive shift in cryptographic standards, particularly with the PQC transition, scaling remediation efforts is critical. The introduction of Command MCP Server marks a breakthrough in that effort—enabling teams to identify, assess, and act on cryptographic risks faster than ever, using AI to power large-scale certificate operations through natural language.
By combining intelligent discovery with AI-assisted remediation, Keyfactor is reducing the complexity of cryptographic transformation and lowering the barrier to entry so more teams can contribute to building secure, quantum-ready infrastructures.
