Assurant Employee Benefits, a segment of Assurant, Inc., is conducting a reduction in force that will result in a charge to segment second quarter net operating income of approximately $4.5 million, after taxes.

In accordance with general instruction B.2 to Form 8-K, this information shall be deemed furnished and not filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
