Item 8.01. Other Events.

 

At the meeting of the Board of Directors of United Fire & Casualty Company held on August 15, 2008, the directors authorized the repurchase of up to an additional 500,000 shares of the Company’s common stock over the next two years under the share repurchase program originally announced on August 31, 2007.
