Broad gains lead sector north in early trading

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Technology stocks looked to end the week on an upbeat note Friday as most bellwether issues rose in early trading, giving a lift to the Nasdaq Composite Index as the sector seemed to be unaffected by the latest U.S. unemployment figures.
