6.7 MW rooftop solar system installed on Massachusetts distribution facility

Medline, a manufacturer and distributor of medical products and devices, now has rooftop solar systems on five of its facilities in the U.S. The company has invested $34 million in renewable energy since 2016, according to a press release.

A massive rooftop solar project has been completed at a health care distribution facility in Massachusetts.

The 6.7 MW DC system is located on the roof of Medline's 820,000 square-foot facility in Uxbridge, featuring 16,000 solar modules.

Medline, a manufacturer and distributor of medical products and devices, now has rooftop solar systems on five of its facilities in the U.S. According to a press release, the company has invested $34 million in renewable energy since 2016.

The Uxbridge project will participate in the Massachusetts SMART Program.

"We established our renewable energy portfolio in 2009, when our first geothermal facility was built, and it’s been growing ever since,” said Francesca Olivier, Vice President of ESG at Medline. “We’re committed to helping healthcare run more sustainably – extending beyond our responsibility to provide sustainable products and services to our customers and looking to our own operations to determine how we can best preserve Earth’s natural resources."

PowerFlex, an EDF Renewables subsidiary, developed the Uxbridge project, as well as Medline's four other solar projects:

  • Tracy, CA 2.4 MW DC
  • Auburndale, FL 1.6 MW DC
  • Rialto, CA 1.2 MW DC
  • Northfield, IL 1 MW DC
