In an interview with Loncar Lyon Jenkins representatives, Michel remarked on the information she learned during the course of creating her PSA. "The main thing I learned," she said, "is that a lot of us think [car wrecks due to distracted driving] is something that only happens to others." Instead, the project showed her that these tragedies can happen to anyone. The statistics don't lie, and nearly half of all teenage drivers admit to texting while behind the wheel.

Annika Michel currently attends the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studies finance. "I might want to be a financial advisor or a financial analyst," Michel said when asked about her future. Though creating a PSA may seem a far cry from the financial world, the issue of distracted driving affects everyone, she told representatives in an interview.
