MindRhythm, a medical technology company focused on preventing neurological injury in stroke, today announced that industry pioneer Pierre Lamond has joined the company's board of directors. Lamond, a co-founder of the National Semiconductor Corporation and longtime technology and medical device executive, will help provide strategic vision and tactical advice as MindRhythm prepares for FDA submission and commercialization in the coming months.

"Subsequent to our recent round of funding, and in conjunction with our clinical and technological development, we are excited to have Pierre join MindRhythm's board of directors, where his expertise will be invaluable," said John Keane, Co-Founder and CEO of MindRhythm. "Pierre's knowledge of the industry and experience guiding startups towards success will be beneficial to the team here."

Lamond joins Corey Goodman, Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner of venBio Partners; Paul Lovoi, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CTO of MindRhythm; Wade Smith, MD, Ph.D., Chief of the Neurovascular Division at UCSF; and Keane on the MindRhythm board.

"The technology that the MindRhythm team is developing is truly unique and has the opportunity to change the lives of stroke patients," said Lamond. "I'm glad to be a part of the team and am looking forward to helping the company advance to the next stage in development."

Mr. Lamond will assist the MindRhythm team in its development of the Harmony headset which is a non-invasive, diagnostic medical device that can rapidly identify patients with LVO and small vessel strokes via monitoring of a specific physiology discovered by UCSF and MindRhythm.
