What to Know About Trucking Accidents & the Industry

AUSTIN, Texas - March 1, 2021 - PRLog -- According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), there were 450,000 large truck crashes in 2017 and 102,000 truck crashes with injuries. • Large truck occupants made up less than 20% of trucking fatalities.
• In 2018, 96% of people killed in two-vehicle crashes involving a passenger vehicle and a large truck were occupants of passenger vehicles.
• Almost 60% of fatal large truck crashes occur in rural regions.

Additionally, approximately 130,000 individuals are hurt in large truck accidents every year. If you travel on roads or highways that accommodate large trucks, such as 18-wheelers, stay vigilant. Drive carefully on weeknights when the most catastrophic accidents typically occur. The more you know, the better you can prepare.
