Christmas is not far off and the big day will soon be here. A lot of people have already started putting up their Christmas decorations early this year, but if you are holding off until at least December, then you may still be looking for some festive inspiration to help decorate your home. Whether you create your own decorations or shop around for seasonal decor, it’s fun to add different Christmas elements to your home. In this post, we are going to look at ways you can decorate different rooms around the house to make your home festive.

The entrance hall

The entrance hall is the first thing guests see when they come over, so you want to make it warm and welcoming. Whether guests will be allowed in or just stopping by for a chat on the doorstep, we will have to wait and see. To make the hallway festive and fun, drape a beautiful stair garland adorned with ribbons and fairy lights around the banister. If you have a hallway bench, you can add some seasonal touches to it, such as star and reindeer ornaments or pillar candles to give cosy vibes.

The living room

Many people choose to put their Christmas tree in the living room as this is the main room of the house, so this will be the key feature. However, there are plenty of other festive ways you can decorate the room. You can add a wreath above the fireplace, or you can create a simple centrepiece with candles in glass lanterns and twinkling lights on top of your coffee table to set the scene. Add warmth to the room with cosy blankets and seasonal cushions in festive prints.

The dining room

The dining room is extra special at this time of year as it’s where all the family come together to enjoy the big Christmas day feast. Try to pick tones that are warm and inviting, like berries and golds for your dining room accessories. A deep red table runner will look great with marble dining tables, and you can complement this with simple dinnerware. A fun idea is to make your own Christmas crackers to set on the table ready for your loved ones to enjoy and is a great way to save on costs.

The bedroom

If you are feeling extra festive, the Christmas decorating doesn’t stop at the dining or living room. There are many ways you can decorate your bedroom to make it seasonal. You can add rustic, cosy vibes to your bedroom by adding frosted pinecones in a glass bowl and placing it on your nightstand. There are plenty of choices when it comes to Christmas bedding, and you can add a simple Nordic-inspired design with stags or fair isle print on it, and place a cable-knit blanket at the foot of your bed to make it super cosy. Don’t forget to add fairy lights to your bedroom to complete the festive look.

Decorating your house room by room for Christmas will ensure that your home has plenty of festive cheer for you and your family to enjoy this year.
