Laborde Earles Law Firm LLC is proud to announce the winner of the Maritime Workers Scholarship

LAFAYETTE, LA, November 18, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Connor Bradley, 19, of Morro Bay, CA., is the recipient of the Laborde Earles Law Firm LLC Maritime Workers Scholarship. Laborde Earles is a Louisiana-based personal injury law firm with many clients in the maritime industry. Southern Louisiana has more maritime workers than another place in the nation, highlighting the industry's importance.

The firm established this scholarship for any college student who plans to study engineering, mechanics, or similar maritime careers.

Bradley, a graduate of Morro Bay High School, will attend the Cal Maritime Academy in Vallejo, CA., this fall. Cal Maritime is part of the vast California State University system and is the only maritime academy on the West Coast.

Bradley is a high achiever. He is an Eagle Scout, a rank only a small percentage of Boy Scouts achieve. He was a four-sport varsity athlete in high school, and he is part of the elite ocean lifeguard program as a United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) ocean lifeguard. He also teaches lifeguards in Morro Bay.

Bradley's passion for the sea was spurred when he began helping his father on the family fishing boat. "Fishing with my father helped me realize the value of hard work and delayed gratification, as there is never a guarantee that we will come home with anything," he wrote in his essay.

Bradley said the experience fishing for the family taught him to respect the hard work of the local Morro Bay commercial fishermen.

Bradley is the son of Craig and Jeanell Bradley, of Morro Bay.
