Phoenix, AZ, USA – October 29, 2020 – Debra Murrow launched a new function of COLORME Art Spa: graphic recording. Through art, Murrow records meetings and events in a series of drawings meant to translate a speaker’s words into illustrated meanings. It is difficult to hold the attention of a group, and graphic recording is a powerful way to retain awareness while maintaining control of a story. Murrow endeavors to increase the understanding, memory & visual retention of the viewers as she illustrates the goings-on of an event and/or meeting.
There are many different ways to learn, but visual learning is one of the more common learning methods. Through graphic recording, one can reach a larger audience and potentially expand their business. “Approximately 65 percent of the population are visual learners… visual learners are often called spatial learners and, unsurprisingly, learn, and remember best through visual communication.”* By giving one’s audience a visual anchor, it can make information more digestible.
The graphic recordings of a meeting will be turned into a COLORME drawing that can be downloaded into an attendee’s notes within the context of the event or added to their vision board. Recently, Murrow used graphic recording while documenting Dr. Otto Siegel’s keynote speech for the Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented. Murrow stated, in regards to graphic recording, “We all know that art heals, we all realize that words and phrases that go into our minds come out in our lives. With this unique way of transcribing an event to actually get the listener’s involvement after the fact is stunning.”
In the future, Murrow will continue to expand her brand by developing an online pen and ink art class. The class will be in a downloadable video format, for easy accessibility.
