any approach reading in the wrong way, “forcing themselves” to read, and reading ends up being a tedious and difficult task to maintain over time. The good news is that maintaining a reading habit is very simple and easy. “I want to read more” surely you think or have thought at some point in your life. If not, you should consider it since reading gives multiple benefits. It teaches you about things beyond your daily horizons, connects you with the brightest minds and can create characters so real that you seem to know them, plus a reader can be a good writer.

Today, with the advancement of the internet, accessing a book is much less cumbersome than it could be not long ago. Technology instead of killing reading habits as many say, turns it into an “enriched reading “. Before continuing, we want to tell you about some benefits that reading gives us: It stimulates the exchange of information and knowledge:

  • It cuts down dementia risk in half.
  • Stimulates perception.
  • Stimulates concentration.
  • Stimulate empathy.

When we read however, we must ensure that we are taking good care of the eyes. It’s important to get your eyes regularly checked, for both reading and watching your movies! If you need a prescription lens, then you should shop now. Don’t put your eyes under unnecessary pressure.

The brain is one more muscle in our body. If we don’t exercise it, if we don’t give it work, it gradually weakens. If you did not have the habit of reading, it may be tiring to read for 30 minutes, but with time it will be easier and you will become more agile. It is a process similar to running or exercising. It starts with minimum time, carrying a minimum weight, and if you are constant, sooner or later you will be running a marathon or lifting more weight.

Look at the classics!

The notion of reading as a tedious task is sometimes brought on by school, as classical readings are assigned and we have found them boring.  However, that is not to say that the book is bad, but that it may not be the right time to read it. Classic books are for a reason, and sometimes they have such deep meanings that they are not appreciated at a certain age, or on a first reading. There will be times that you still don’t like it, and there is no problem with that. Reading is subjective, but it will always leave you with new knowledge.

Get together with people who like to read

We are social beings by nature. Reading enriches us as much as talking to people, if they talk about books, it is only natural that you enrich yourself, listen to recommendations, and arrive at new literary discoveries. Remember, school is only part of academic training. Much depends on you, but reading, more than a responsibility, is a pleasure. Make a reading list

Once you’ve determined your reading goal for the year, either in the number of books or in areas of knowledge, make a list to back it up. Ask for recommendations, research, and write down all the books you would like or would be interested in reading. Make a list, and assign each of these books a month or week to be read; Also write down when you start and when you finish each of the books on your list. A reading list will not only help you stay organized and stick to your mints, but it can help you make notes or save phrases that have impacted you, and you can always return to it to remember what you learned, or if you need inspiration. To improve habits there is nothing like being consistent. Reading at least 10 pages a day will help you strengthen your habit and not fall behind in your goals. Focus on your habits and you will soon become a seasoned reader.
