Why coronavirus probably won't force American grocers to run out of food

As majority of Americans practice social distancing due to the rapid spread of coronavirus, supermarkets are seeing a dramatic surge in demand. Sales of items such as beans, meat and pasta have doubled and tripled, and consequently supermarkets are struggling to keep up. Images of empty aisles and customers hoarding have had people concerned that the country will run out of food. However, industry experts say the supply chain is intact and that running out of food is highly unlikely.
