Disaster Specialists Provide Park City Utah Water Damage Cleanup

Disaster Specialists in Centerville, Utah, recently completed a Park City Utah water damage cleanup job that was caused by radiant heat failure. Daryl Olsen with the company recently discussed the issues that were present in the home and what the Disaster Specialists did to repair and alleviate those issues.

“In this particular job,” says Olsen, “We found water damage on two different levels in the home. Best case scenario is you hope that the damage is contained to the area with the initial issue. Unfortunately this was not the case with this particular project.”

Olsen says that the company was called in for mitigation and found that the home needed wood flooring replacement, as well as drywall replacement and mold remediation. He adds that they were able to provide a complete cleanup of the property for under $9,000.

“When we have this much water damage, we worry about mold,” says Olsen. “Of course, anytime there is water damage there is the threat of mold growth but in this particular case, there was so much damage to walls and floors which is where mold loves to grow when those areas are moist.”

Olsen says that cleaning up from water damage is essential in order to keep mold growth down. He adds that homeowners need to understand how important it is to completely clean up water and to check for mold growth when water damage is present.

“We see many instances where homeowners feel that they can simply use a wet-dry vacuum system to clean up water and then wipe their walls down and they thing that this is enough. Unfortunately, it is not nearly enough,” Olsen says.

Water damage is something that must be cleaned up completely in order to keep mold from growing. Mold growth in homes has been blamed for millions of allergies and other illnesses every year, and it is particularly dangerous for children and the elderly. Olsen adds that cleaning up mold is not something that the average consumer can do because complete mold removal requires specialized equipment and training.

Mold spores will release into the air when they are disturbed which is what makes them dangerous. Olsen says that in their latest job, the company took along highly trained professionals and tools and equipment that is necessary to safely and efficiently remove mold from homes. He adds that the company has the professional equipment that is necessary to completely remove water, as well. Not properly and effectively removing all water in cases of water damage can lead to mold growth.

“We always tell our clients that it is much safer for professionals to clean up their water damage and remove mold than it is for them to attempt it themselves,” Olsen adds. “Even though they may think that they are saving money, in reality the damage that they could be causing by not getting the job done right can be much more expensive than having it done professionally in the first place.”

Olsen says that in the case of their latest job, there was much cleanup needed in order to fully remove the water damage and to prevent the growth of mold in the home. Utah Disaster Specialists offers a wide range of services in addition to water damage cleanup including fire and smoke damage cleanup and the cleaning of air ducts.

Olsen says that anyone with questions can visit the company on their official website to learn more about the services that they offer or read through their blog to learn more about the dangers of mold growth and not having water damage professionally removed. The company website has a contact form for those who wish to schedule an evaluation and direct contact information for those who wish to reach out to the company via phone or email. Utah Disaster Specialists currently serves customers in and around Centerville, Utah, as well as Provo, Salt Lake City, Park City, Ogden and the surrounding areas.
