Calgary, Alberta based 2000 Days Pre-Kindergarten recently announced they will be hosting an Open House event each month, as well as private tours, and they invite parents to explore the institution and what it has to offer their children. The kindergarten strives to be the best local daycare in the area, utilizing state of the art facilities located in a central area of the city.
The monthly open houses will allow parents to familiarize themselves with the environment where their children may spend most of the working week. Daniel Kepka, a spokesperson for 2000 Days Pre-Kindergarten, says, "We know just how important it is for parents to familiarize themselves with the environment where they are planning to send their kids to. Open Houses are a great way to get a lot of information about our children’s daycare in a quick and concise manner that would not be possible in another form. Marlene, the owner of the daycare, will be the person in charge of guiding visitors around our school while answering any inquiries they may have about our programs."
The daycare affirms that their Open Houses will be completely transparent, showing an example of the state of the facilities on a regular day (minus the children). Visitors will be free to roam around, or follow the guide for a more practical experience where they will receive personal attention. The school also encourages parents to bring their children to the visits to get an honest reaction to the new environment they could soon be attending. Kepka says, "You can ask a lot of questions or just quietly look around, reading our information signs. Have a coffee and chat with the owner or principal, or simply roam around the school evaluating our equipment. Each parent has their own methods to evaluate what can be best for their children, and we welcome all of them."
For parents who either want a more personal experience or simply wish to see the 2000 Days Pre-School, the daycare offers private tours. Such tours can be scheduled at whatever time is most convenient for the parent, and they will be able to fully experience the pre-school functioning at its regular pace. Kepka notes that parents most often elect to go on private tours since, "Watching daycare staff operate on a normal day is the best way to determine whether or not we are the right choice as a daycare for your child. While visitors will not have the same freedom to go wherever they want during these private tours, so as to avoid interrupting the classes, we believe seeing how our staff operates can be valuable as well."
The daycare informs parents that they have no other preparations to make before attending their Open Houses, other than scheduling each through the daycare’s website. For their private tours, however, they say it is necessary to bring the child that would be attending the daycare to introduce them to the staff beforehand. Preparing questions, while not mandatory, is encouraged, as this will allow parents to get the most out of the one-hour duration of each tour.
