TMS Health Solutions, Northern California's largest TMS Practice, Announces the Opening of an All-new Facility in San Rafael, CA, its Tenth Clinic Overall

The new Marin County office joins existing TMS Health Solutions practices in Sacramento, UC San Francisco, Union Square, Oakland, Roseville, Burlingame, El Dorado Hills, Walnut Creek and Costa Mesa.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 23, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Richard Bermudes, Chief Medical Officer of TMS Health Solutions, announced today the opening of an all-new facility at Montecito Plaza, 361 E. Third St, Suite A, San Rafael, CA 94901. He will be joined by Drs. Jesse Bastiaens, Nikhil Majumdar, and Ryan Vidrine.

Jesse Bastiaens, MD (Medication Management and TMS) is a psychiatrist who specializes in treating people suffering from depression and anxiety spectrum disorders (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, Panic), among other disorders. He also has a great passion for the brain and neuroscience – how electrical and chemical impulses can direct our thoughts, feelings, and functioning. He sees psychiatry as a rapidly growing science incorporating therapy, medications, and interventional modalities.

Nikhil Majumdar, MD (Medication Management and TMS) is a psychiatrist, Board-Certified in Psychiatry as well as in Addiction Medicine, who believes in holistic treatment. He creates personalized treatment plans with each patient, drawing on his expertise and their life experience to help them improve their mental, physical, and social health. Dr. Majumdar works with patients who may be experiencing clinical depression or other psychiatric disorders.

Ryan Vidrine, MD (OCD Management and TMS) is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who specializes in treating patients with OCD, Body Dysmorphia, Anxiety Disorders, and Treatment-Resistant Depression. He has always found himself fascinated by the neuroscience of how experience and relationship attachment lead people to become who they are, living how they live, as a product of both their biology and the multitude of experiences (good and bad) that they have accumulated. This passion for understanding both the science and the human experience is what led him to psychiatry, with a particular interest in the field of Interventional Psychiatry and Neuromodulation.

Dr. Karl Lanocha, Director of TMS Education at TMS Health Solutions, and another trailblazer in TMS practice, stated, "We are honored to serve Marin County with a unique, patient-centric experience and the most advanced therapies available for those suffering with mental health struggles and advanced depression."

TMS Health Solutions was founded in 2007 by Dr. Richard Bermudes, who sought to develop a group practice that provided innovative, patient-centric care with the focus of an academic research institution, continually incorporated new and groundbreaking treatment methods while educating the community.

The TMS Health Solutions Psychiatric Team has the most experience providing TMS therapy of any outpatient psychiatric medical practice in Northern California. Dr. Bermudes, our founder, and Chief Medical Officer is a nationally recognized leader in TMS and was elected as president of the Clinical TMS Society in 2015, serving for two years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Lanocha, who directs education efforts, is one of the most published clinicians in the field of TMS and one of the nation's first physicians to use TMS to treat depression.

The treatment of depression isn't a "one-size fits all" and can be managed through various options, including psychotherapy, medication, and TMS. Each patient is unique, and his or her depression can be addressed through one or a combination of these treatments.

About Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy:
Cleared by the FDA in 2008, TMS is a drug-free, non-invasive therapy for patients who suffer from treatment-resistant depression. It is administered in a physician's office in an outpatient setting. By using an MRI-strength magnetic field to stimulate the prefrontal cortex of the brain, the core symptoms of major depression can be relieved. Unlike antidepressants or Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), patients undergoing TMS therapy experience minimal side effects.

Headquartered in San Francisco, California, TMS Health Solutions clinics specialize in the delivery of TMS therapy for patients suffering from treatment-resistant depression. Additionally, the clinics provide traditional treatment for mood disorders. TMS Health Solutions is led by Dr. Richard Bermudes and Dr. Karl Lanocha, two of the nation's leading experts on using TMS therapy as an innovative treatment for depression.
