Joanies Rocks Consigns Items to Plantique Garden Center

Joanies Rocks announces that it has entered into a consignment arrangement with Plantique Garden Center to sell rocks and minerals at Plantiques Minneapolis retail location. The Plantique Garden Center is located at 5152 Hiawatha Avenue, Minneapolis MN 55417.

“We want to get our inventory of Amethyst, Geodes, Petrified Wood and Rose Quartz to the local gardening community in South Minneapolis,” says Earl Netwal a principal in Joanies Rocks.

Nice attractive rocks can accent the natural beauty of flower gardens and make a great partnership.

The Plantique Garden Center has been in operation for many years serving the Nokomis East and Longfellow neighborhoods in South Minneapolis. It is also the home of Outdoor Expressions Landscaping and Parkview Greenhouses.

Their shared goal is to provide their customers with a wider array of diverse annuals, herbs and vegetables started organically.

The Plantique Garden Center opens for the 2019 Season on Thursday May 2nd and will remain open through the growing season and into the fall. The center has traditionally offered unique items in addition to a brad selection of flowers, herbs and vegetables, with a distinct Mexican and antique flair.

Gardens offer people the opportunity to celebrate God’s natural wonders and to enjoy visual variety. Combining elements of art, sculpture and natural items such as interesting rocks and minerals ads to the celebration.

Plantique Garden Center hopes to enhance the community it serves by making access to quality plants and interesting accents a reality within reach for everyday people in the area.

Joanies Rocks is a newer enterprise, started recently by Earl and Joan Netwal as a retirement avocation. The couple have been making a series of rock hounding trips in search of interesting mineral and rock specimens. Their travels have taken them from Mount Ida Arkansas where they gathered Quartz Crystals to Montana for Moss Agates and Petrified Wood, to Canada’s Thunder Bay region in search of Amethyst. In addition to searching for rock specimens, the couple has also sought fossils. Their prize items so far has been a 40 million year old tortoise Joan found during a dig in bad lands in South Dakota.

The couple has been selling their findings at area rocks shows throughout Minnesota Iowa and Wisconsin, in part to subsidize their rock hounding trips. Last year they placed a couple of items for sale at Plantique and we pleased to see them sell. Their goal this year is to grow on that positive experience and better share their finds with area residents.
