Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a temporary power distribution system that converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current into three-phase 240D/120V AC. This transformer allows operators to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from generators, direct grid power and other sources.
The MGL-480V-15KVA-240D.120V-30A.TWL-20C temporary power distribution system features a primary side connecting three-phase 480V AC using 20 feet of #12 SOOW cord to the NEMA 3R 30-amp 480V three-phase primary disconnect. The primary disconnect has three 25-amp time-delay fuses and passes power to the transformer.
The system converts 480V AC to three-phase 240D/120V AC and passes the current to the secondary side, which has three 30-amp time-delay fuses protecting a 30-amp 250V L15-30R receptacle. All receptacles on this unit come equipped with waterproof covers.
Larson Electronics’ power distribution transformer and load center/distribution assembly are mounted to a powder-coated steel dolly cart-style frame with two run-flat rubber tires for easy transportation. This transformer is grounded to the frame with a grounding lug provided. Suitable applications include indoor and outdoor use at construction sites, for plant maintenance and turnarounds, and more.
