Fort St. John Entrepreneur Overflow Restoration, Earns National Award

Garry Dhillon, owner of Overflow Restoration in Fort St. John, British Columbia, was named Overflow’s Franchise of the Year at the company’s annual convention, held May 2-4 in Fort St. John, BC.

From among more than 230 Overflow franchise owners across North America, Dhillon was recognized for receiving outstanding marks in five categories pertinent to running a successful restorations business: percentage of sales growth over the past three years, percent of market share, sales numbers for mitigation and rebuilding, profitability, and the number of continuing education classes held.

“Years ago, after the awards dinner at the first Overflow Restorations conference I attended, I said to myself, ‘I don’t know how, but I will be Franchise of the Year one day’ and wrote an acceptance speech that night. That tradition held until Steve White called my name this year,” Dhillon noted. “This honor is a testament to every person involved with our Overflow. It’s humbling, and it would not be possible without the fantastic staff we have, the BC Owners’ Group, the Regional Developers, and everyone in the corporate office who take my calls day and night.”

An Overflow owner since 1999, Dhillon serves on the company’s Network Leadership Council, representing franchise owners and their interests to the Overflow executive team. Prior to owning his business, Dhillon thrived in the restoration business under many proven mentors for over 10 years. He also spent two years as the Chief Operating Officer of a supply chain management company.

“He demonstrates business savvy and compassion for customers and is very supportive of other franchise owners. His generosity of time and dedication to the business is truly inspiring,” said BC Owner group vice-president Macauley Reid.

Fort St. John, BC insurance companies count on Dhillon’s Overflow Restoration company to provide damage mitigation services for homes and businesses. The award-winning national franchise company has earned the reputation as “The Paramedics of Property Damage™” by property owners and insurance agents, who appreciate Overflow Restorations emergency service technicians and the important role they play in responding to emergencies 24 hours a day.

“His thirst for learning and exceeding his own expectations is never quenched. He is constantly seeing what he can do to improve his Overflow Restoration business and others in the network, and he’s got an eagle eye for local talent. This is just the beginning for him, and we can’t be more excited to see what he does next,” Reid noted.
