Universal K9, a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving dogs a second chance and providing law enforcement agencies with highly trained narcotic, explosive and patrol dogs, has officially been awarded an investment of $140,000 by the Petco Foundation as part of the 2017 Helping Heroes campaign.

“We’re incredibly proud of this investment, and the support shown by the Petco Foundation. We’re also honored to be a part of this amazing campaign, and help give these deserving dogs a second chance,” explained Brad Croft, the organization’s founder, and head trainer.

Helping Heroes is an annual campaign that focuses on raising money to support organizations working with service, therapy and working animals, sponsored by the Petco Foundation. The 2017 campaign was sponsored in part by Natural Balance® pet food. The campaign encourages donations from individuals and organizations across the nation throughout the month of October.
