​GE board adds Trian partner who is alternate in P&G proxy battle

General Electric, which is one of Greater Cincinnati’s largest employers, revealed today that its board has elected Ed Garden of Trian Fund Management as a director . Garden is the son-in-law of Nelson Peltz, the activist investor who is waging a proxy battle in hopes of winning election to the board of Procter & Gamble Co.
