This year marks the 101st anniversary of the Gasparilla Pirate Fest, the yearly celebration commemorating pirate Jose Gaspar and his mythical mischief making along the coastlines of Florida, Louisiana and Central America as well as locales across the Caribbean. As Tampa gears up for the annual arrival of the infamous figure and his pirate entourage, Marc Yonker of Winters & Yonker, P.A. is hoping to ensure visitors and local residents are prepared for any accompanying traffic complications.

This year's 12-hour celebration will be held on Saturday, January 28, running from 9:00 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the Gasparilla Invasion spanning the 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. time frame. Following this portion of the festivities, the parade is scheduled to begin at 2:00. Live music and entertainment will be held throughout the event. Gasparilla Road Closures are set to begin as early as 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning in preparation for the festival.
