“As the greatest generation ages, we want to find them the best living situation in which to spend their twilight years,” said Louisiana Senior Care Authority owner Larry Balyeat. “My team and I work as trusted advisors to provide appropriate assisted living options that meet each individual’s healthcare needs, lifestyle interests, and budget.”

Larry spends time touring and reviewing local living communities – including assisted living, dementia and memory care, and residential care homes. He meets one-on-one with families to assess their individual needs and provides them with a targeted list of best care options. Then he accompanies them on tours of his pre-approved homes and guides them through the entire process, including assistance with price negotiation and paperwork. Larry and his team also follows up with his clients once the placement has been made. All of these services are provided free to families and seniors.

Transitioning an elderly loved one to assisted living community can be a complex, lengthy, often confusing and stressful process for the entire family.

“I experienced the stress of finding an assisted living community for a loved one when my father was too sick for us to care for at home. The process took a tremendous amount of time and research, and was also emotionally exhausting,” said Balyeat. “I want to alleviate as much of that stress as I can for others.”

Prior to becoming a Senior Care Authority advisor and Certified Senior Advisor, Larry spent more than 40 years in healthcare administration. He is now focused on using his knowledge of healthcare quality, patient satisfaction, and healthcare reimbursement to help Louisiana seniors and their families find the right residential communities for their individual needs.

Larry is married with two daughters and two grandsons. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toledo, is active in the American Heart Association, For Kids Foundation. Larry has lived in New Orleans for over 16 years.
