PRLog - Jun 13, 2013 - ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- EasyPark parking garages are getting a facelift. A construction contract has been awarded to a local contractor to paint three EasyPark garages starting this summer, and finishing the job in the summer of 2014. Work began at 7th & G garage on June 12th.
Anchorage Community Development Authority's Board of Directors reviewed the design and unanimously voted on sand, grey and orange. The interior of the garges will be painted white to accentuate the energy efficient lighting and enhance customer safety.
EasyPark will also continue the garage wayfinding signage project. During 2012, new interior wayfinding signage was installed in 5th & B garage to help motorists navigate, then safely guide them to their final destination after transitioning to pedestrian mode. EasyPark will install the new signage in 6th & H, 7th & G, and JCPenney garages this fall.
Parkers & pedestrians will need to be alert for workers, cones, barricades, materials and assorted equipment. Rick Onstott, EasyPark's Parking Director, recommends that the public stay aware of the project while work is being done. "Please drive carefully," Onstott said. "Most of the work will be done in the evening hours to minimize the inconvenience to our customers, but some access restrictions will occur."
The painting project will end for the season in September of 2013, with the completion of the 7th & G and 6th & H garages. Work will resume in May 2014 when the contractor starts work at EasyPark's largest facility, the 5th & B garage.
