Adtalem Earnings: What To Look For From ATGE

Vocational education company Adtalem Global Education (NYSE: ATGE) will be reporting results this Thursday after market close. Here’s what investors should know.

Adtalem beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 4% last quarter, reporting revenues of $457.1 million, up 11.5% year on year. It was a strong quarter for the company, with full-year revenue guidance beating analysts’ expectations and an impressive beat of analysts’ revenue estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Adtalem’s revenue to grow 8.6% year on year to $453.3 million, slowing from the 13.2% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $1.58 per share.

Looking at Adtalem’s peers in the consumer discretionary segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Nike delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 1.1%, beating analysts’ expectations by 6.5%, and VF Corp reported a revenue decline of 3.5%, topping estimates by 0.9%.
