Great Clips Helps NHL Players Traded Around 2026 NHL Trade Deadline Settle into New Cities with Free Haircuts Through the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Great Clips Trade Bonus Card Offers Consistency When NHL Players Need It Most

Great Clips, the Official Hair Salon of the National Hockey League (NHL) and National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), today launched its first-ever program for athletes to assist with the often-overlooked challenges that traded players have of maintaining normalcy and routine during the season. To help ease their transitions, any NHL player traded before the NHL Trade Deadline on March 6, 2026, will receive a Great Clips Trade Bonus Card, providing free haircuts for the players and their families at any Great Clips salon through the end of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

For NHL players, a trade means more than joining a new team - it often involves moving their families, settling into a new city, and rebuilding daily routines, all while staying focused on performing at their best. Even simple tasks, like finding a reliable place for a haircut, become another item on an already overwhelming to-do list.

The Great Clips Trade Bonus Cards will help ensure that every traded NHL player can count on a convenient and consistent haircut regardless of where the game takes them. With more than 4,400 salons across the U.S. and Canada, players and their families will be able to use the Great Clips App to find salons near their new location. Plus, if they’re current Great Clips customers, their Clip Notes® (detailed notes of haircut preferences) will travel with them so they can walk into any Great Clips salon and get their same great haircut.

“Trades bring a lot of change, but a haircut doesn’t have to be one of them,” said Traci Elder, VP of Marketing and Communications at Great Clips, Inc. “We created the Great Clips Trade Bonus program to remove one small but meaningful stressor - finding a trusted place for a haircut. NHL players, like millions of Great Clips customers, can experience the convenience and confidence of walking into any Great Clips salon and getting the haircut they want.”

During the week of March 9, Great Clips will also give fans the chance to win their own Great Clips Trade Bonus Card for free haircuts through the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs when they visit Great Clips’ social media channels and follow the instructions on how to enter.
