Marie Sylla Dixon Joins Exelon as Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs

The government and external affairs veteran will oversee all federal-level governmental and regulatory activities at the nation’s leading energy transmission and delivery company.

Exelon Corp. (Nasdaq: EXC) has named government and external affairs veteran, Marie Sylla Dixon, as the company’s senior vice president of Federal Affairs.

Sylla Dixon will oversee all federal-level governmental and regulatory activities for Exelon, including the development and implementation of industry policies and will provide strategic direction for relationships with key entities, including the U.S. Congress, governmental agencies, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and PJM regional transmission provider. Sylla Dixon will play a crucial role in how Exelon leads the energy transformation by driving policies and initiatives that promote sustainable and innovative energy solutions. Dixon will report to Exelon EVP, Public Policy and Chief External Affairs Officer, Colette Honorable.

Sylla Dixon brings more than 20 years of experience from highly regulated industries and complex matrix-structured organizations. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of Government and External Affairs at Albertsons Companies, where she spearheaded public policy and public affairs at the federal, state and local levels. She has also held senior leadership roles in Government Relations, External Affairs and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Amazon, Raytheon Technologies, Verizon Communications and T-Mobile.

Her experience helping companies navigate challenging regulatory and political landscapes, while integrating strategic communications, public affairs and coalition building to drive disruptive advocacy campaigns, will be of particular value as Exelon continues to nurture successful partnerships with the Edison Electric Institute and other industry and stakeholder organizations.

Sylla Dixon received a Juris Doctor degree from the Catholic University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Hampton University. She is also a founding board member of Global Women's Innovation Network and serves on the boards of City Year DC, Public Affairs Council, Congressional Black Caucus PAC and the National Hispanic Media Coalition.
