The coveted Distillery of the Year award is determined by the collective scores of each entered product, considering its originality, consistency, flavor diversity, taste components, and packaging. All 70 judges are beverage buyers from across the US – including Delta Sky Club and Delta Airlines, Liquor World, and the national spirits buyer of Walmart, to name a few.
In addition to Distillery of the Year, Ole Smoky has been awarded the Double Gold distinction for the Peanut Butter Whiskey, Moonshine Pickles, and Banana Pudding Cream Moonshine, as well as the Century distinction for the Butter Pecan Cream Moonshine, indicating a perfect 100-point score. After each product is tasted blind, judges taste the product again while reviewing the product’s packaging, design, and brand story.
