Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley is set to open its Washington, DC location this June. The arrival of Kitchen + Kocktails downtown in the nation’s capital, just a few blocks from the white house, is merely the next step in Kelley’s plan to bring unrivaled hospitality, culinary excellence and southern comfort food to major cities across the country and potentially the globe. Born and raised in Texas, Kelley is focused on bringing an elevated experience embodying the soul of southern hospitality and authenticity of southern cuisine to the masses. The concept boasts an extensive menu of southern classics that transition the culinary complexities of soul food and the southern diaspora to the greater landscape of fine dining experiences and pays homage to cajun and caribbean culture with selections including Seafood Gumbo, Fish and Grits, Caribbean Jerk Lamb Chops and more flanked by a plethora of soul-warming southern comfort food classics, many rare on fine dining menus: Black Eyed Peas with Turkey Necks, Candied Yams, and other delights usually found only from a family member’s kitchen. The staples include Fried Chicken, offered in multiple flavors with a variety of waffles of course, to include Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding plus Fried Catfish, Pork Chops, Chicken Fried Steak to name a few.
