Farmers Bank of Willards Announces President and CEO Retirement and Succession Plan

WILLARDS, MD / ACCESSWIRE / April 26, 2024 / The Farmers Bank of Willards announced that Christopher F. Davis, President/CEO, will retire from the bank effective September 9, 2025. Christopher's retirement comes at the end of 22 years as the President/CEO and a total of 27 years as a member of the Board of Directors.

In order to facilitate his retirement, Christopher will be transitioning to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective June 1st, 2024. In this capacity, Christopher will continue to steer the Farmers Bank of Willards with unwavering dedication and strategic vision until his official retirement next September.

In conjunction with this transition, the Board of Directors has selected Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Davis as the sixth President of the Farmers Bank of Willards. Matthew joined the Farmers Bank of Willards in 2017. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success across a variety of industries. His expertise in banking, corporate finance, and technology will be invaluable as the Bank continues to grow and innovate in the local market. Matthew will officially assume the role of President on June 1st, 2024, working closely with Christopher and the entire executive team to ensure a seamless transition.

Matthew is a native of Salisbury, MD where he graduated from Parkside High School in 2005. He attended the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University where he received a M.S. degree in Finance and Accounting. Matthew returned home to the Eastern Shore in 2017 and currently resides in Millsboro, DE with his wife and three children.
