Dr. Jacques LaFrance is the acclaimed author of A Composite Portrait of Heaven, Heaven Is Amazing!, and the latest version Heaven Is Beyond Imagination. He also has written most recently a novella, A Walk Through Heaven, based on the previous book.
He became a follower of Jesus as a freshman at Harvard University and was active in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. After completing his Ph.D. in computer science, he taught computer science for 27 years at Wheaton College, Oral Roberts University and Oklahoma State University.
Dr. LaFrance is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa and lives in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Scott City, Kansas.

Tell us about Heaven Is Beyond Imagination.
Have you ever wondered what a loved one is like in Heaven? Have you wondered whether you will actually enjoy life there?
Heaven Is Beyond Imagination is a composite overview of the details of Heaven from fifty published eyewitness testimonies. These testimonies have been compared to give a more complete picture of each detail of Heaven in a more extensive way than ever before. While each testimony is different, they are also very similar, giving support for their authenticity and a more accurate picture than any one person’s experience could provide.
As the title suggests, many of these witnesses said they do not have the words to fully describe what they experienced and learned—indeed, Heaven is wonderful beyond your wildest imagination.
What inspired you to write Heaven Is Beyond Imagination?
After being introduced to George Ritchie’s Return from Tomorrow and Maurice Rawlings’ Beyond Death’s Door in the 1970’s, I went on to read 56 books sharing published personal accounts of temporary death and what was seen, heard and felt. I used my research expertise to extract comparisons of eyewitness testimonies and obtain a thorough overview of what heaven is like by comparing different authors’ descriptions of each feature.
I had the opportunity to teach a class at church on the nature of heaven. The class blessed many people and was very well received so I decided I should publish this work.
It has been my goal to make the information about Heaven as widely known as possible to change people's lives and attitudes about death and Heaven and help people experience positive changes in their day to day lives by adopting eternal priorities in their present lives in view of how much God loves them and what He has prepared for their future with Him.
How did your background and experience influence your writing?
My Ph.D. gave me experience doing research and writing. My education gave me good training in grammar and writing. My experience teaching in college and church and communicating issues with friends made me aware of the issues about which I have written.
What is one message you would like readers to remember?
The goal of my writing is to share the insights God has given me to enable people to live closer to Him, enjoy Him more, know how much they can trust Him, and live in accordance with what life here is all about, knowing the glorious and love-filled future that awaits us. Jesus told several of the eyewitnesses included in Heaven Is Beyond Imagination that he wanted them to go back and tell his people what he showed them. He said he is coming back very soon and wants us to be ready. I believe God gifted me and inspired me to put all these testimonies together in one place for the most complete picture of what God and Jesus have prepared for those who love Him, so we will fully live for Him and trust Him in whatever we have to go through before Jdsus returns. God loves you more than you can imagine. He wants you to enjoy eternally being in His love. By seeing God's love demonstrated in Heaven, I hope readers will be more interested in reflecting that love and glory in all he or she does.
