Item 8.01 Other Events

On February 19, 2009, First Financial Northwest, Inc. (“Company”) announced that its Board of Directors had authorized the repurchase of up to 2,056,752 shares, or approximately 10%, of the Company’s outstanding shares of common stock.  A copy of the press release announcing the stock repurchase program is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
